Sometimes the hardest part of looking for pet care is finding someone available when you need them.

Weekends fill up. Holiday periods go quickly. And sometimes you only know you need help at the last minute. I understand how stressful that can feel. I’ve been in that position myself, needing to sort pet care, feeling under pressure, and worrying about whether I’m making the right decision for my pet.

Why I Made This List

I was asked a few days ago, if I knew anyone else locally who offers pet sitting services, and I realised I didn’t have anywhere useful to signpost to.

When someone gets in touch looking for pet care, it’s usually because they’re already juggling something, a trip, work, illness, family stuff.

If I don’t have availability, I don’t want it to be the end of the road. The most important thing is that pets are cared for and their people aren’t left worrying.

A Quick Note Before You Use This List

To be clear and fair:

  • These are not personal recommendations

  • I don’t know all of the sitters listed personally

  • I can’t comment on their availability, pricing, insurance, or policies

This list is simply a starting point and is not exhaustive.

Last note

If you’re feeling anxious about leaving your pet, that’s normal, especially if you’re under time pressure or dealing with other things at the same time.

A good sitter will be happy to:

  • answer your questions

  • talk through routines and house rules

  • meet you beforehand where possible

  • be clear about what they can (and can’t) offer

Working Together

If I’m unable to help due to not having availability, I hope this page is a useful place to start finding other pet care services in Ayrshire.
